Have you changed your blog template and got a message saying your blog widgets were going to be deleted? This tutorial will explain how to change your blog's template without loosing your widgets.

1- Go to your Blog's DASHBOARD -->Template > EDIT HTML > and make sure the option EXPAND WIDGETS TEMPLATES isn´t selected.

2- Copy/paste your template to Notepad.

3- Locate your sidebar in the template

You´ll see that all your widgets start with: <b:widget id, in this example i have 3 widgets in the sidebar, Archives, Labels and TextList

    </div>

4- Open the new template on Notepad and locate the sidebar section and replace the default widgets that came with the template with the ones from STEP 3, afterreplacing them click on FILE-->SAVE

5- Go to your Blog's DASHBOARD -->Template > EDIT HTML > and on the UPLOAD A TEMPLATE FROM A FILE ON YOUR HARD DRIVE option click on BROWSE to select the template you edited on STEP 4 and click on UPLOAD to replace the old template wth the one you´re uploading, now you won´t see the delete widgets message meaning all your widgets have been kept
